The old Venetian Castle is the first view when somebody visits the island as it is founded in the highest hill of the island’ main town which is Chora Naxos. Furthermore in Apollonas village lay since 6th century BC the oldest among the Greek history ancient 10,5m unfinished human marbled statue called “Kouros” which indicates that Naxos was in the top of the Greek civilization’ pyramid. Also, Naxos marbles are world wide famous since then.
